Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
Unravel the secret of maturation.

Puffin Whisky

Story of Puffin Whisky

A master distiller once said that depending on your religion, the maturation of single malt whisky is either black magic or a miracle. Whatever you think, it is a mystery, and no scientist, wizard or prophet can fully explain it. Learning about whisky maturation is like exploring a large dark tunnel. Puffin acts as a light in the black, and helps the whisky lover learn more about the marriage of wood and spirit. In this case we have taken whisky spirit from Highland distillery Macduff and finished its maturation in three different cask types - Oloroso sherry, Pedro Ximenez sherry, and Bourbon. The result is a set of three different whiskies, helping the connoisseur understand the complexities of wood maturation and its importance to the final, wonderful taste of excellently made Scottish whisky. Buy Puffin Whisky right now.

"This whisky is very delicate and sweet. I would say that it is a dessert liquor that captivates with its lightness. Puffin was one of my discoveries at the festival. Many participants I talked to during the festival also confirmed my opinion that it is a delicate and pleasant whisky to drink. I recommend you buy it because there are only 362 bottles."

Puffin Whisky Glenrothes 21YO

Glenrothes distillery lies among the green glens of Speyside. It belongs to the Edrington Group – the same company that is famous for the Macallan distillery. Whisky produced at Glenrothes matures mainly in sherry casks and it's known for its fruity and light flavour. Our 21 years old expression is a single cask edition that adds a hint of ginger and spices to the classic Rothes malt. This develops into a marvellous tongue-coating finish with dark chocolate notes.

Puffin Whisky Benrinnes 19YO

The single malts produced by it are considered to be among the most under-appreciated in the world of whisky. Our Puffin edition spent 18 years in a bourbon barrel and then a further year in a sherry cask. The influence of the wood and the fact that the spirit was produced at a time when Benrinnes was partly triple distilled contribute to distinctive citrus and banana notes. The taste is creamy, with breakfast cereals, and beeswax. The taste gives way to a long, salty caramel finish. The whisky has not been chill-filtered and its colour is natural.
